YPFP – Europe at Sea: Documentary and Discussion
At The Sister Brussels Cafe, Rue Chair et Pain, Brussels, Belgium on 9 Jul 2018 at 7pm-9pmin Europe At Sea
“Europe at Sea” is a documentary directed by Annalisa Piras which within the context of the Wake-up Europe Foundation produces cinematographic content to use as inspiration for people to think, talk and act to protect and nurture the core European values of democracy, peace and prosperity.
In this award-winning documentary, Annalisa Piras was granted exclusive access to follow High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy / Vice-President of the Commission Federica Mogherini as she puts together the new EU Global Strategy, an initiative focusing on universal problems and tackling wide-ranging concerns in an unprecedented year of political discord.
The movie blends powerful cinematography with animated segments to present hard-hitting facts and information. Europe at Sea takes a close look at how Europe is able to combat the rapidly growing security and humanitarian challenges that are present both within and outside its borders.
The film also examines the implications of Donald Trump’s America, the threat of North Korea and the confusion surrounding the UK’s Brexit vote. All of this is presented by taking a methodical and balanced approach, making the most of both the powerful visuals and Mogherini’s practical and professional approach to showcasing the essential work being done’.
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion. For the first time, YPFP Brussels is excited to engage a full members panel.
